Achievements

Our students have continued to make us proud through their achievements and awards. The impact of these achievements are enormous as the entire school community continues to support learning that stretch, challenge and inspire our students to achieve their highest levels of attainment.


At Nile University, Abuja, three students of LBIS participated in the competition;
- Amusan Tasleemah Opeoluwa [Year 12],
- Nkemadu Olivia Esomchukwu [Year 12] and
- Adeleye Oluwaseyi Adeola [Year 11].
Tasleema Amusan Opeoluwa’s essay on ‘Equal and qualitative education for all’ was selected as one of the top 10 essays, and was awarded a prize. She was also inducted into PISTIS Elite Club. LBIS was also awarded a prize as one of the participating schools.

On Tuesday, 19th November, 2019, at the inaugural edition of the NERC’s annual electricity essay challenge, LBIS students of Year 11 made it to the best ten essays of The competition themed “Electricity Efficiency: Need for Attitudinal Change in the use of Electricity in Nigeria”. Nwando Okoye & Bimogha James Jephthah received certificates, plaques, as well as prize money of N200, 000. Our English Language teacher also received a token prize of N50, 000 for preparing the students for the competition.

WAEC and NECO SSCE Results

We are delighted to announce that our students have continued to improve results in our WAEC and NECO SSCE examinations.

91.1% achieved A-Cs in WAEC this year which is almost a 10% improvement on last year’s results whilst 86% achieved A-C grades in NECO SSCE which is almost a 7% improvement on previous years.

We are extremely proud that most of our students have already enrolled in Further and Higher Education courses at an impressive range of universities across Nigeria, the UK and Canada including Manchester University, Nile University, Covenant University, University of Toronto, Afe-Babalola University, Baze University, Kent University, University of Calgary, Oxford 6th Form College and Lancashire University.

SYMPOSIUM

LBIS participated in a symposium organised by Intelligence Quotient Academy featuring presentations from federal government agencies and non-governmental organisations such as National Orientation Agency and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Alexandra Asiodu, a Year 11 student of Lead British International school delivered a presented a paper on “Economic Factor as a Cause of Drug Abuse”.

Teen Trust Best Article

Lead British International school former Head Boy, Salim Hussain had the best Teen Trust article entry for 2018 academic session. We encourage your child/children to write creative articles and also stories that are worthy of publication.

Result Highlights!

SSCE- NECO Improved results in 18 (81% of) subjects)100% students achieve A-C grade in 10 subjects WAEC Improved results in 18 (nearly 80% of) subjects 100% of the students achieved A-C grades in 11 subjects 35 students in 9 subjects achieved A1 this year.

DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française)

Six students of LBIS sat for DELF A1 (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française). The examination is one of the official qualifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency of non-French candidates in the French language. These certificates are valid for life. Six students of LBIS who sat for the examination distinguished themselves based on the result just released by the Embassy of France. They scored as follows: Out of 100 marks they scored respectively: 85, 78, 76, 86, 92, and 83.

LBIS students at EU Embassy:

Our students represented the school at the European Union Embassy in Abuja as they had the opportunity to interview the Head of the delegation of the EU to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Mr. Ketil Karlsen. The experience provided an opportunity for our students to interact with the Ambassador and understand his mission in Nigeria and how it impacts on the Education Sector and other sectors of our National Economy. Mr Karlsen and his team expressed delight at the level of confidence displayed by our students.

Sports , Vocational and Creative Art

In sports, the Lead British International school junior football team emerged second in the just concluded Dunes Soccer Tournament that was held at the National Stadium, Abuja.
Male and female relay team that represented the school at Royal Family Academy's relay race came back with Bronze Medals.

Results

WAEC with 100% of students achieving A-C grades in 6 subjects. This is a great achievement! Our new Deputy Head of School Secondary and Assistant Head of Secondary have already implemented a range of new strategies to continue to improve our results next year with the support of our dedicated team of experienced staff in the secondary section.

Our alumna are all excelling and topping their classes in their various higher institutions.
* One of our many success stories is our very own Hauwa Umar Usman who bagged a first-class honors degree from Brighton University, U.K., becoming the first female aeronautic engineer from northern Nigeria.
We also have the following alumni who have made us proud:
* Ahamefula Bredan Rochas, First Class honors degree in Mechanical Engineering, University of Manchester. Ahamefula also has a Master of Science degree in Advanced Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.
* Adama Olumo- First Class Honors degree in Civil Engineering, University of Brighton.
* Ismail Tahir Mamman- First Class Honors degree in Biomedical Science, University of Surrey.
* Ahmed Sani Dan-Bello- First Class Honors degree in Law, University of Hertfordshire.
* Micheal Onolememen - First Class Honors degree in Bio-Chemistry, University of Sheffield, UK.
* Iliya Peter Biye - First Class Honors degree in Electrical Engineering, Conventry University, UK.
* Ayomide Muhammed Hassan - First Class Honors degree in Economics and management from Aston University Birmingham, UK.
* Muhammed Abbagana - First Class Honors in Political Science and International Relations from Nile University, Abuja.

Our students regularly take part in a variety of competitions. They achieved first position in a Mathematics and Science Competition organized by the British Oasis Academy, first position in Mathematics Competition organized by Premiere International School and first position in freestyle painting.

In 2017, LBIS recorded 100% WAEC credit passes in English of which 56.3% were distinctions. In Math, we recorded 95% credit passes and 84.4% distinctions.

We celebrate our class of 2020 Year12 students for their excellent performance during the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination. Education at our school, sets a global standard for education, with learning that stretch, challenge and inspire students.

We are delighted to be in Ibadan, building on the excellent progress we have made over the last 14 years.
